Physical Therapy
Physical therapy is an essential component in the Gulf Orthopaedics approach to your health and wellness. We partner with a range of providers to ensure you achieve the greatest level of functional independence and mobility.
What Is Physical Therapy?
Physical therapy is a first-line treatment often prescribed to help patients become stronger and more flexible, which helps the return of function after sustaining an injury or developing a medical condition. Physical therapy can restore mobility, range of motion, and fitness level in addition to providing pain relief.
Our collaborative and seamless approach to care means your physician will prescribe a personalized recovery plan post-procedure or as an effective alternative to medication and surgery.
What Can I Expect from My PT Session?
Many of our clinics have on-site PT services. You can expect to work one-on-one with a highly qualified physical therapist in an encouraging, relaxed environment. Your treatment session may include:
- Post-Surgical Rehabilitation
- Therapeutic Exercises and Activities: strengthening muscles, restoring joint range of motion, increasing flexibility, improving mobility, and decreasing pain.
- Manual Therapy: a hands-on approach to decrease pain and restore movement function. Treatments include soft tissue mobilizations, joint mobilizations, active release therapy, and PNF techniques to get you feeling and moving better faster.
- Dry Needling: a more direct manual therapy technique using thin, filiform needles inserted into the body to reduce pain, improve blood flow, and restore normal joint movement.
