Dr. Lane is a Fellowship Trained Sports Medicine and Shoulder Specialist, and Director of Sports Medicine for Infirmary Health Systems. He trained at the prestigious Hospital for Special Surgery in New York, NY – consistently ranked as the country’s top hospital in orthopaedics. Dr. Lane is widely published on ligament injuries to the knee and has played a role as a team physician for multiple Mobile area high schools, colleges, and professional teams. Dr. Lane leads Gulf Ortho’s comprehensive sports medicine team and its commitment to the highest level of medical care for every athlete in South Alabama. He is Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and Sports Medicine. He practiced at another orthopedic clinic in the Mobile area for 14 years before forming Gulf Orthopaedics with five founding partners in 2021.

It’s no surprise that Dr. Lane is a sports enthusiast, and when not in scrubs can be found exercising, foiling or kite surfing along the Gulf Coast. A native of Pascagoula, MS, Clayton and wife Hillary have three children and enjoy all things outdoors along the Eastern Shore and abroad.
